  • Dr. Ana M Espino is specialist in Molecular Parasitology and hold a
    tenure track position at the department of Microbiology of UPR-MSC. Dr
    Espino is a native of Cuba and has developed her career studying
    parasitic helminths. Her projects focus on the identification, purification
    and biochemical characterization of parasite molecules that exhibit antiinflammatory
    properties and has been pioneer in the use of these
    molecules for developing of novel treatments against sepsis and other
    inflammatory diseases. She is recipient of various competitive grant
    awards, two US. patents and more than 60 peer-reviewed publications.
