  • Dr. Gary A. Toranzos has been Professor of Microbiology at the University of Puerto Rico for the last 37 years except for a short stint at the National Science Foundation as Program Director (2002-2003)  Toranzos has dedicated his professional life to Environmental Microbiology and lately to Paleomicrobiology and the microbiota of ancient ethnic groups.
