• Gabriel Aleman Rodríguez is Acting Director of the Department of Social Sciences at the University of Puerto Rico at Arecibo. At that institution he has held the position of Director of the Center for Ibero-American Studies and Coordinator of the radio program El Sur también existe. He has been a professor of Social Sciences, History and Latin America at the University of Puerto Rico Rio Piedras and Arecibo campuses and at Rutgers University. He has also lectured in Puerto Rico, Spain, Mexico, Colombia and the United States, and published in various national and international academic journals.
