- During her first fourteen years in the University of Puerto Rico, Betzaida Castillo attained a BS degree in Industrial Chemistry, received a PhD in Chemistry from the Biochemistry Division and completed two years of postdoctoral research. Currently, she is Assistant Professor and Researcher at University of Puerto Rico, Humacao Campus. Her research is focused on designing, synthesizing, and characterizing nanosized active delivery systems for the delivery of miRNA and therapeutic proteins in vitro and in vivo. As a result of the collaboration with other researchers, several peer-reviewed publications have been produced.
