overview

• My research and professional work focuses on conservation and ecological restoration of coastal ecosystems. I am working on the restoration of dunes and basin mangroves on the north coast of Puerto Rico to increase the resilience of coastal communities and habitats. We are developing innovative sand trapping devices and mangrove planting techniques can greatly contribute to coastal restoration. I am very committed with UN decade on restoration and think that we need to prioritize and focus more scientific and social efforts at stopping climate change and restoring as many ecosystems as we can.
