- Dr. Hughes is the principal investigator of the Puerto Rico Landslide Hazard Mitigation Office. In this role, he organizes landslide science and community engagement in Puerto Rico. He works closely with the US Geological Survey and others to advance landslide predictability, forecasting, and education in the island.
