- Dr, Elba C, Diaz-Toro received research training and experiences in head and neck cancer disease management; cancer control policy; behavior modification (smoking and alcohol control); community-based participatory research and collaborative approaches to health promotion research, community assets and resources; and system changes for health professionals’ clinical practices. The convenient combination of her clinical and public health academic background and clinical and CBPR experiences prepare her to fill this unique niche in cancer prevention and control where disparities, population sciences, and clinical aspects meet to affect public health among underserved or vulnerable segments of the population.
