  • Juan O. López Gerena has over 20 years experience in software development, including positions in well-known companies such as IBM and Pratt & Whitney, as well as providing freelance programming services.  Additionally, Dr. López has several years of experience in academic positions, teaching a variety of Math and Computer Science courses in multiple academic institutions, and is currently the Interim Chair of the Computer Science department at the University of Puerto Rico at Arecibo.  Dr. López currently performs research in the field of Bioinformatics, while supervising undergraduate students that are getting their first research experience.
