Dipak K. Banerjee spent thirty-seven years in academia (UPR Medical Sciences Campus), ten years as researcher (4 years in the National Institutes of Health, 3 years in the University of Maryland School of Medicine, and 3 years in the Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences, India), after receiving his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Calcutta, India in 1976.
