  • Dr. Lugo-Pérez is a full professor at the University of Puerto Rico in Utuado (UPRU), where he began working in 2009. At UPRU he has contributed as director of the Department of Natural Sciences, director of the Office of Planning and Institutional Studies, accreditation liaison with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and Academic Senator. Before joining UPRU, he spent two years at the University of Illinois as a lecturer and Stable Isotype Laboratory Manager.

  • Conduct research on agroecology and carbon sequestration in agroforestry systems.Coordinates the work of the Institutional Sustainability Committee and the development of the Climate Action Plan of the UPR in Utuado.
