Dr. Álvarez holds a PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Carlos Albizu University and is licensed by the State to practice psychology. She began her professional career at ASEM, where she served as an Industrial/Organizational Psychologist, later held the positions of Director of Recruitment and Selection and Director of Organizational Development. In 2001 she began offering courses at the Rio Piedras Campus, where she continues to this day. She has offered courses in Compensation Systems, Human Resources Management, Organizational Behavior, Recruitment and Selection, Human Relations, Industrial Psychology, and Introduction to Business. She was a member of the Psychology Board of PR for seven years, serving as its president from 2010 to 2012. She also has technical knowledge in personnel evaluation, recruitment, and selection. She has developed training and conferences in the areas of Psychological Harassment in the Workplace, Interviewing Techniques, Labor Law and Decision Making, and Conflict Resolution. She has been offering Human Resources workshops for entrepreneurs and recently completed the Professional Teacher Certification in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Her area of expertise is measurement and the areas of recruitment and selection. Her area of research interest is women's leadership development and health and quality of working life.
