Born in Brazil and embraced by Puerto Rico, I have dedicated numerous years to the detailed characterization of nanosystems, employing a diverse array of techniques such as electron microscopy, Auger spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and electrochemistry. The contributions to the field are evident through the publication of over 20 scientific articles.
As the progeny of an esteemed artist and professor specializing in art history, I found inspiration to apply his knowledge in the characterization of cultural heritage. Beyond my scholarly pursuits, I have actively engaged in various academic roles, serving as an academic senator, department director, and creator of more than 10 courses and 2 minor concentrations.
Presently, I am involved in collaborative efforts, spearheading conservation projects in partnership with cultural institutions within the country.
