Dr. Melin is a clinician, researcher, teacher, and passionate advocate for health equity. Before coming to the University of Puerto Rico, Dr. Melin lived and practiced in both Ohio and Maryland.
Dr. Melin is a clinician, researcher, teacher, and passionate advocate for health equity. Before coming to the University of Puerto Rico, Dr. Melin lived and practiced in both Ohio and Maryland.
Dr. Melin is a practicing clinical pharmacist and researcher in the fields of pharmacogenomics and substance use disorders. He is passionate about improving the care for vulnerable and underserved communities and has conducted a variety of community-based projects in Puerto Rico. His research focuses on developing individualized treatment approaches that use clinical and genetic information to improve outcomes. Dr. Melin has also performed research to better understand practicing clinicians readiness to provide care for gender minorities, and he provides continuing professional education programs in this area.
