- Ramos’ career at UPR has focused on developing a multidisciplinary undergraduate research community and increasing the number of Hispanics, women, and students from disadvantaged backgrounds with advanced degrees in STEM. She has implemented initiatives, including leading an NSF-ADVANCE program, that significantly increased the participation of women in physics (students and faculty) at UPRH. In 2019, she was elected fellow of the American Physical Society (APS) for her achievements in these areas.
