Fernando spent his adult life studying mathematics and their applications. After obtaining his Ph.D. in Denmark and spending a year in India, Fernando accepted a tenure track position at UPR-Ponce. Currently, he directs a math REU focused on helping underrepresented students pursue careers in mathematics.
