Omayra Rivera Crespo has experience as an architect and educator in Boston, Barcelona, and Puerto Rico. In 2011 she published the book "Participatory Processes: design, build and inhabit contemporary housing". She has been part of the editorial boards of local architecture journals, has published and been a peer reviewer for international architecture journals, and has participated in architecture and urbanism conferences in Cyprus, Spain, the United States, Central and South America. She co-founded "Taller Creando Sin Encargos" to support community-led design projects and is part of the URBE collective. Since 2011 she has worked as a lecturer, researcher, and private consultant for public and private institutions such as the UPPR, the Municipality of San Juan, the MACPR, the G8 del Caño Martín Peña, HORNE PR, and the PR Science Trust. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Puerto Rico.
