Timothy J. Colston is an evolutionary biologist, microbial ecologist and herpetologist. In his research he uses genomic methods to study host-associated microbial communities, evolutionary relationships of hosts, genetic mechanisms governing phenotypic variation and processes of community assembly to understand organismal evolution and patterns of biodiversity. In addition to research. Tim is passionate about improving accessibility, equity and diversity in science and has served in various committee capacities to this aim. An avid field researcher, he is passionate about educating and advocating for local indigenous communities through his outreach and research in the Neotropics and the Horn of Africa.
