María Isabel Jiménez-Chafey has been the Director of the Department of Counseling at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus (URPPR) for 11 years, and prior to that she was Staff Psychologist at the Department. She began at the UPRRP as Project Director, Assistant Research Scientist and Clinical Supervisor at the Research Institute of the Social Sciences Faculty of the UPRRP. She was also Director and Staff Psychologist of the Mental Health Unit of the Diabetes Center for Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus.
