• Dr. Marta Álvarez is professor at the Institute of Statistics and Computerized Information Systems of the

  Business School, University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. She has a PhD in statistics and a master's

  degree in applied mathematics from Texas A&M University, and a bachelor's degree in mathematics from

  the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras. Professor Álvarez teaches introductory and advanced statistics

  courses where the statistical program R is used. Currently Dr. Álvarez is working on several research
