Dr. Ayala is a professor and consultant with expertise in operations analysis, business strategy, business analytics, risk assessment, process improvement, and project analysis across private and public sectors. He has delivered guest lectures and seminars in Latin America, the USA, and Spain and occupied numerous academic and administrative positions, including a role on the Puerto Rico Governor's Quality Excellence Award audit team. He has recently taught seminars on balanced scorecards, systems thinking, project risk management, and service quality. Dr. Ayala's research in recent years has primarily focused on risk management, stochastic optimization, operational resiliency, and time-dependent performance metrics, with fieldwork conducted in Latin America and Puerto Rico. Among others, Dr. Ayala earned the following professional certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP), Master Project Manager (MPM), Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Master Logistician (CML), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), and ISO22301 Business Continuity Lead Assessor. In 2009, he was distinguished as a Fellow Member of the American Association of Project Management, recognizing his contributions to the field.
