overview

  • Moises research is focused in the area of algebra, specifically in the theory of Finite Fields and its applications. Finite field have applications in the areas of information theory, coding theory, cryptography, sequences, designs, and others. These applications imply modeling information for recording, transferring, reproducing, storing, compressing, making secure, making confidential, etc. Thus, finite fields and functions defined over finite fields have direct implications in the fast-growing technology of computers and digital communications systems. Current research can be divided in two specific problems. The first one is about testing new criteria for absolute irreducibility of multivariate polynomials defined over finite fields of characteristic 2. The second one is dedicated to the study of low-density parity check (LDPC) codes which are linear error-correcting block codes with multiple applications.
