  • Dr. Javier Rodriguez is full professor of finance at the Graduate School of Business, University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. He is also Associate Director of the Center to Foster Innovation and Commercialization (UPR i+c). He holds a PhD in finance from the University of Houston and a Master in Science in applied mathematics from the University of Puerto Rico.   His research interests include portfolio performance metrics, mutual funds, exchange traded funds and the financial side of environmental and climate change issues. He has over forty journal publications, including articles in the Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Economics and Finance, Managerial Finance, Quantitative Finance and the Social Responsibility Journal. In 2007 he was Visiting Scholar at the Michael G. Foster School of Business of the University of Washington and in 2011 was awarded a Fulbright Award for research in Uruguay. Dr. Rodriguez is certified in design thinking and has extensive experience providing mentorship to innovation teams and nascent entrepreneurs. He has been the recipient of grants from the Economic Development Administration and VentureWell.
